District Leadership
Committee Report (2025)

In accordance with Protocol 9.0: District Campaigns and Elections, and under Article XI: Committees of the Toastmasters International Governing Documents, Kevin Broughton, DTM, IPDD – District Leadership Committee Chair, has formally declared that the District Leadership Committee (DLC) Report for District 73 is complete.

All requirements and deadlines have been met. The DLC has:

• Nominated the minimum number of candidates for each elected role.
• Verified qualifications and eligibility of all nominees.
• Utilised the Candidate Evaluation and Officer Competencies frameworks in our assessment.
• Ensured that at least two DLC members were present for all interviews.
• Conducted all interviews via Zoom, allowing full participation and balanced input from the committee.

All deliberations and voting outcomes remain confidential, to be shared only with the District Director, Toastmasters International World Headquarters, and the International Board of Directors as per protocol.

All endorsed candidates have expressed their willingness to stand and their commitment to fulfil the duties of office.

The District Leadership Committee (DLC) interviewed the following candidates and deemed that they are qualified and meet the guidelines for the positions for which they nominated.

• Bass Division Director: Nadeine Samuel
• Central Division Director: Mark Reynolds DTM
• Eastern Division Director: Laura Martin

• Northern Division director: Leah Walker
• Ranges Division Director: Simon Lakey

Floor candidates are not allowed to run for roles that are complete on a valid District Leadership Committee (DLC) report, unless they were part of the DLC evaluation process. Those who did, must state their intention to stand as a floor candidate no later than 10th May, 7 days prior to the District Council Meeting (DCM).

A Candidate Showcase event over Zoom has been scheduled for Saturday 10th May 2025 at 7:00. This hosted event is a unique opportunity to join and hear candidates answer select questions applied to each of the roles. Members will have the chance to assess and get to know each candidate before voting at the District Council Meeting.

As a District Council Member, please register and ensure you attend the upcoming District Council Meeting on 17th May 2025 at 15:00 AEST. By attending and casting your vote, you will have a say and gain insights into the aims of each candidate standing for election to District Leadership positions in 2025 – 2026.
