    3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

(Division Directors, Area Directors, District Executive officers, Presidents, VPE)

District Council Meetings (DCMs) are an opportunity for you, as leaders in your clubs and the District, to learn more about what is going on in the District and have your say on what happens. This is the second of two DCMs for the 2022-23 Toastmasters year. Your attendance at this meeting will help make sure any decisions made here reflect the wishes of our members across the District.

Agenda Items – Motions
Your club has the opportunity to submit agenda items, via a motion, for inclusion in the next meeting. As per Renton’s Rules [2.70], except in cases of short announcements, the discussion is not permitted unless a motion is placed before the chair.

If you would like to propose a motion at the District Council meeting, sufficient notice of the motion needs to be given to all district council members and will be addressed as a motion on notice for the May 20 2023 District Council meeting. Your motions need to be emailed to the D73 District Parliamentarian by 11:59 pm, Thurs 4th May.

If you would like to discuss your motion prior to submission, please contact your Area or Division Director, the District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, or District Parliamentarian. Contact details can be found on the D73 website.

If you would like assistance in wording motions, please refer to How to Write a Motion or contact Vince Camilleri, D73 Parliamentarian:

Proxies
Proxies for virtual meetings are not permitted; the president, vice president of education and district leaders must cast their own vote. If you hold multiple club president and/or VPE roles, you can cast two votes for these roles, regardless of how many positions you hold. If, as well as being a club president or vice president education, you are a member of the district executive committee, you are entitled to cast up to one additional vote for this role (up to a maximum of three votes).
